Wangfujing Night Market, Beijing

So, the Wangfujing Night Market is pretty famous in Beijing, mostly for the fun stuff sold there that totally weirds out foreigners (including me!). That night, I learned one of the most important phrases in Chinese that I had learned while in China: “wo bu  yao fu xie” (I don’t want diarrhea). It seemed to work! There were lots of things on sticks, ready to be dipped into boiling oil. Some things probably would have been good and only taste like oil (like insects, etc), but some things would be too thick to cook through and would still have their, um, consistency. Warning: don’t view these photos if you’re about to eat.
